Come walk with us in our 4th Annual "Walk for the Fix". Help us in our effort to end pet overpopulation and the needless suffering of dogs and cats by helping prevent unwanted births! Everyday throughout this state and country, THOUSANDS of companion animals are being euthanized because there just aren't enough good homes. Spaying and Neutering our dogs and cats is one way to help stop this tragedy. Join us in a community event to show your support and care for our companion animals. If you don't live close, but still would like to walk, don't worry!! We have a virtual walk registration so that you can still "Walk for The Fix".
Please register by 6/20/2017 to guarantee your t-shirt, goody bag and doggie bandanna as supplies may be limited
Same day registration opens at 8:45 - we will begin the walk at 9:30
Event ends at 2:00
There will be great vendors, face paining for the kids (and kids at heart) music and food before and after the walk
We thank Historic Downtown Wilson for partnering with us to make this a community event

For the Love of Dogs is a non profit no-kill organization made up of volunteers who are committed to the humane treatment of puppies and adult dogs. The following goals represent our commitment:
The prevention of cruelty to dogs is reflected in our efforts in rescuing stray dogs, providing humane care and treatment of dogs needing protection, seeking to return lost dogs to their owners and seeking suitable homes for dogs without owners.Through the assistance of various veterinarians, we provide support for adult dogs to be spayed or neutered as well as receive age appropriate vaccinations. Information about the importance of age appropriate vaccinations, the prevention of heart worms, flea and tick protection as well socialization of dogs are common topics discussed. We also coordinate efforts to manage the medical health of dogs in need. Before placing a puppy or dog into a new home, the animal is in good health.Creating a caring environment for dogs involves accurate information and education about the care and treatment of dogs. This is accomplished through public advertisements, newspaper articles, presentations to schools and civic groups. In order to provide the best care possible, it is necessary to raise funds for the care of dogs. Fundraising activities are both informal and formal.
Dogs improve our lives, lower blood pressure and stress, and increase our life expectancy. We owe it to them to give them the best life possible.
